There are a handful of countries or wine producing regions that consumers think of in a negative way as low end wine. Australia, Greece, New York State, South Africa, and Sadly, Chile. Somehow, consumers believe Chile is the home of large format table wines and lower end bulk wines. That couldn’t be further from the truth. In the Rapel Valley, Maipo, and Casablanca and the Lolol Valley there is more than enough amazing wineries, producing handcrafted, value driven wines. As I type this, one of my blog followers asked me a week ago to recommend a winery to visit and do tasting at while in Chile. I recommended one from this video and she visited today and sent me a text that the property was “Breathtaking and the wines were superb” This is just the short list of some great selections from that part of the world. The summer weather is here so Get Chile!!!!!!!!
