The luck of the Irish and the knowledge of a Certified Sommelier could be a good combination! Yes, I know that most people who are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day will be eating Corned Beef and Cabbage and drinking Stout Beer and Irish Whiskey and Irish Car Bombs etc but it is very possible for those of us who are wine lovers to pair wines with St Patrick’s Day fare. The food is very close to a Thanksgiving type of pairing when it comes to wine. I wish everyone celebrating St Patty’s Day (Which seems everyone becomes Irish for this day) lots of Irish Luck and a safe, fun, celebration. Corned Beef and Cabbage with WINE??? WINE NOT??

Great post 😁
Thank you for the support
Really enjoyed your post and pairing suggestions. Specially the dry Riesling. In the past I’ve found that dry non sparkling Rose’s and even Cotes du Rhone’s pair quite nicely. Out of left field a Vihno Verde was also a hit when pairing. That said, I think for 2019 you had me at dry Riesling. Thank you.
Yes you need acidity with a salty brined meat like corned beef and this Riesling that is bone dry works really well. Cheers
