We know I always say that “Wine is Not For Snobs”. Prosecco is a fun sparkling wine but it is NOT a Grape. It is the region it comes from. The grape varietal’s original name is Glera. In the North Central and Northeastern Region the D.O.C. Prosecco region is located in Treviso and the Veneto etc. Minimum Glera required by the D.O.C is 85% and they are fun and enjoyable wines. I and every Italian guest I have ever shown our Prosecco Section doesn’t care about brand, the color of the label, they browse the section and ONLY will buy any Prosecco if it is more strictly controlled and 100% Glera from the original region in the Northeast of Italy where there is a village actually named Prosecco, but a D.O.C.G. region called Conegliano Valdobbiadene which is 50 km away from Venice. This D.O.C.G is also labeled as Prosecco Superiore and to be 100% honest it really is SUPERIOR in quality and only for $4.00-$5.00 difference. I may be spoiled but for $14.99 and you love Prosecco, treat yourself to the best… Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Cin Cin !!
Grape-fully yours, Larry
