Wines For THANKSGIVING Not For TURKEY!!!

Every November I have to do the same video and disagree with all of my Somm Colleagues and Brother and Sisterhood about what wine to drink on the big Feast Day of Thanksgiving. It’s Simple! There are thousands of pairings for Turkey. Do you remember however that this is the day we cook our traditional favorites and most of the recipes have enough SUGAR in them to put anyone into a Diabetic Coma!! Have you ever had  something really sweet with tons of almost hurt your teeth sugar and a PINOT NOIR?? Not too pretty is it? All the blog followers and all the blog writers are going to ask “What wine to drink with TURKEY”. You will hear responses from , Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Chenin Blanc, Gewurtzraminer, Riesling, Bordeaux, and all fine for the Turkey but WHAT A DISASTER with the trimmings of  Candied Yams, Sweet Potato Casserole with Marhsmallow, Cranberry Sauce, NOT Sponsored by the American Diabetes Association Foods! The ONLY Category of wine IMHO that is tried and tested and works with the entire Thanksgiving meal is Rosé. I prefer something bubbly even Champagne but even if you go bubbly to cleanse the palate I still say #RoseAllDay !!!!! Friends and blog followers and customers who take my suggestion every year call me on Black Friday and thank me for Saving them from the hoards of media suggestions of Incorrect Pairings and tell me the Rose wines, bubbly or not, worked like a match made in heaven even with the Pumpkin Pie for Dessert. So it’s up to you what you want to drink. Just remember the holiday is not TURKEY DAY it is THANKSGIVING DAY. Let Me know if you need some ideas for a Still or Sparkling Rose Wine. You will be thanking me on Thanksgiving and on Black Friday for following my recommendation,

Grape-fully yours, Larry
