I wish I could find a link to his article but I couldn’t. Matt Kramer from Wine Spectator wrote this article about 8 years ago called “Don’t Be An Idiot During The Holidays” It stuck with me! This video embellishes on what he meant. Don’t feel bad if you were an idiot as all of us including me had to learn this lesson at some point. Wine lovers want to share their special wines with friends and families. Not every friend or family member even likes wine. Because of our passion we all have made the mistake of opening some back vintage wine to share wih our loved ones, only to look at the table and 2=3 are adding lemonade and making a Sangria out of your 1997 Chianti Classico Riserva. It’s great to want to share but before you pop that cork or stevlin closure on a very special bottle to share, please make sure the people you are sharing with will actually appreciate the wine. Once you made that mistake as I did one time and as Matt Kramer did , you will never be that Idiot again.
