CHASE AFTER A BOTTLE OF CHASING RAIN CAB RED MOUNTAIN!

FROM WASHINGTON’S PREMIER CAB REGION RED MOUNTAIN AVA

Red mountain barely sees 5-8 inches per rain per year Hence the name of this winery : Chasing Rain in Benton City

PARTNERS IN CRIME

Gianfranco Farimbella and Joshua Maloney are two such people. Our vineyard manager and consulting winemaker, respectively, whose understanding of soil, sun, wind and rain, along with a passion for crafting great wine was evident from early on. It’s what led Franco to master innovative irrigation practices and canopy management — creating smaller grapes that yield more intense flavor. And Joshua to become an expert at shepherding the journey from vine to bottle, carefully exercising his craft with a surgeon’s confidence and skill that can only be the product of years of experience.

The truth is, who’s guiding the process makes all the difference in the world. And when you have people who talk to the dirt, it’s a good bet you’re going to end up with some exceptional wine.

2018 CHASING RAIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON

95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot. Barrel aged for 19 months in 20% new American oak and 10% new French oak.

This is dark purple almost black in color . Totallt different animal than the Luke From Wahluke Slope but not in a bad way . Thick in the glass and on the palate . Aromas of Dark Black Cherry , Cola , Cassis and integrated chewy mocha tannins with hints of vanilla comjng from the new oak. I don’t detect any residual sugar . This was a wine that was diligently handled properly from vineyard to bottle. 94 points out of 100 for me.

THE SUMMARY

At $21.99 retail if you can find it at your local wine shop or online this will save you tons of money on those $60 napas that don’t deliver the goods as much as this beauty from Red Mountain . Chase the Rain and Chase This bottle of wine !

Grape-fully yours,
